I need to come up with a research question related to nursing, whether it be about a disease or not. I need to have a claim in my question so I am researching that claim rather than simply giving information on a disease or topic. Any ideas?!?! I need to start reviewing journals tonight!
A: I've always wondered about brain aneurysms. I've known about 4 people- early 20s to middle age- to die from it. As far as I am aware it just 'happens' and there is no way of preventing it. I never researched it though so i don't know all the details.
Q: How to research Nursing Homes for an Alzheimer's patient?
My mother-in-law has Alzheimer's and is getting to the stage where she is forgetting the people/family members she does not see everyday. It will not be long before we have to place her in a home. How do I research nursing homes that would be the best fit for her? I really need some good advice......
A: I would first find out the places in your area with vacancy some places have waiting list then have a meeting with the owners /mangers of the places ,research online , maybe even find some people who have family members in one of these homes and ask about it's reputation

A: A good topic would be how the economy effects travel nursing. with the slow economy people lost their health insurance, hospitals lost extra cash. may be hard to find sources but the topic is important to travel nursing.

MLA or APA?
The syllabus gives examples in APA format but does not specify. It only says a proper and consistent format is mandatory.

A: ANSWER: Probability plot correlation coefficient plot
Many statistical analyses are based on distributional assumptions about the population from which the data have been obtained. However, distributional families can have radically different shapes depending on the value of the shape parameter. Therefore, finding a reasonable choice for the shape parameter is a necessary step in the analysis. In many analyses, finding a good distributional model for the data is the primary focus of the analysis.
The probability plot correlation coefficient (PPCC) plot is a graphical technique for identifying the shape parameter for a distributional family that best describes the data set. This technique is appropriate for families, such as the Weibull, that are defined by a single shape parameter and location and scale parameters, and it is not appropriate or even possible for distributions, such as the normal, that are defined only by location and scale parameters.
The technique is simply "plot the probability plot correlation coefficients for different values of the shape parameter, and choose whichever value yields the best fit".

Q: Which search engine should I use for research for nursing degree?
I'm doing a nursing degree and all I keep hearing from lecturers and other students is "Don't use Google or Wikipedia" but no one seems to be able to tell me which search engine I should use when researching for projects or essays. Anyone have any idea which nursing search engines are good to use? I did a google search (which I've been told not to use) and I came across nursing portal but I'm not sure if its any good! Can anyone help me?
A: My Psychology teacher once showed us all Google Scholar, it's a refined search for students, so that you don't get unrelated garbage.
Because I was doing Psychology, I got a lot of papers and dissertations, etc, I'm not sure if that's what will come up for you, but they were very helpful regardless! It's worth a go, anyways. :)

A: Apply for a position with clinics that are doing clinical trials. Search http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ for the city, ST where you would like to work. Call the contact person to find out if there are openings.

A: You can go to your most local BBB.
You can check if your states attorney has any kind of link or information.
You can find out what government office is over nursing homes and check from there.
You can find out if a particular nursing home has an Ombudsman (sp) and contact him/her.
