Q: Nursing jobs.?
I'm enrolled into a nursing program at a local college, however, it doesn't necessarily interest me a whole lot. I also am on my way to getting an esthetician license. My dream job: Working for a dermatologist or plastic surgeon as a RN Esthetician. However, I'm unsure if this will be a reliable job. My question is: Can somebody name off some jobs I can get with an RN degree. I know that there's so many nursing jobs out there, I just don't know where to go. (Other than becoming an RN Esthetician)

A: Medical/surgical RN Cardiac telemetry RN Labor & Delivery RN Pediatric RN Operating room RN Psychiatric RN Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN Emergency Room RN School Nurse RN Doctor's Office RN Oncology (Cancer) RN Home Health RN (Visiting Nurse)

Q: Nursing Jobs?
I live in Boston where it seems like the majority of women I know are nurses or any girl in her 20's or 30's has gone back to school for nursing. These could be women who have already done a 4 year degree in business, spanish, marketing, but they decide to return to nursing school to get a 2 year associates degree in nursing. My mom earned a BSN in 4 years, she was a nurse at 21. My aunt, grandmother, and cousin all did the same thing. My cousin got her nursing degree at an ivy league school. Seems funny that someone can go to a two year community college, get an associates and make the same salary she does! What do you think will happen in the future of nursing? Many women are doing it because 'the money is good' or 'it only takes two years to get the degree.' I wonder how many of them are actually passionate about it. Nursing is not easy, I feel like nursing is becoming less professional than it once was since everyone is doing it. What do you think? I guess i'm wondering if they pay wont be as good for nurses in the future since it seems like everyone is doing it.

A: Nursing will be in strong demand form many, many years. Once you are in nursing and have experience, there are so many places to take your career from there in health care. The options are almost endless. From the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Projected growth (2004-2014) Faster than average (21-35%) Projected need (2004-2014) 1,203,000 additional employees

Q: What jobs in nursing dont require you to work weekends?
Just got accepted into a nursing program and im thrilled, can't wait to start, but I also am a club dj and a major part of my income is made on the weekends. I'm worried that most nursing jobs will require me to work weekends. does anyone know which setting i can work in that wont require me to work weekends. standard, 9-5?

A: anything but a hospital setting... doctors offices are only open during normal business hours

Q: Does anyone know any good nursing jobs out here that is hiring?
It is so hard trying to find a job, even in the nursing field. I am located in philadelphia, Pa, and I need a job located here. Is there anyone who knows a good job location in philadelphia, Pa where jobs for Certified Nursing Assistance are hiring? Temp agencies, anything. And Thank you.

A: Well with the state of healthcare it can be hard to find a job, but there are a number of places that are hiring in your area, but you have to set out to search long and hard to find jobs that others over look. But the jobs are coming, get looking.

Q: How can I find out about different jobs in business and nursing?
I'm trying to find a complete list of business and nursing jobs. Please help!

A: It's better to select one which you like best and search for that, both are different fields so if you are doing both at same time it is not good. http://www.SecretCashFast.com

Q: what nursing jobs are available without direct patient care?
I've been a nurse for 22 years with experience in Labor/ Delivery, OB/GYNE office nurse and I now currently teach Childbirth Education/ Lamaze. I'm looking for a day-time position that doesn't require patient care. I'm BSN trained. Any suggestions on what types of nursing jobs I should be looking for?

A: Hospital case management; medical insurance claim reviewer; clinical educator.

Q: What are some nursing jobs besides being a bedside nurse?
I am currently a 2nd semester nursing student and have been undergoing several different clinical rotation experiences. I've recently got to work on an oncology floor and now I am doing med-surg. I realized that I'm not bedside nurse material. Is there any other nursing fields I can go into that doesn't require being a bedside nurse? And for those nurses who think real nurses are only "bedside nurses" please do not write judgemental responses...I just need some advice to what other types of jobs are out there for nursing beside bedside nursing (i.e. Public Health Nurse, Nurse Practitioner). Oh, another question, if anyone is a nurse practitioner, please give me your input because I am quite initerested...any advice would help. Oh, hint...I do want to continue my education (but I don't want to be a teacher)

A: School nurse clinic nurse triage nurse legal consultant workman's comp nurse nurse educator surgical nurse case management testing center nurse(stress lab) sleep lab endo clinic infection control utilization review There is a web site called....AllNurses.com... It has just about any type of nursing job you can think of. It's a forum for RN, LPN, Nusring student, etc. Very informative and you may enjoy the site. Good luck on your quest for finding the right fit for you.You have many, many options to choose from . I think you picked a good career because of that . You will always have a job. There will always be sick people in the world to treat.

Q: Does anyone have info on nursing jobs or nice neighborhoods in the Austin or Round Rock area?
I'll be graduating as an RN soon in San Antonio and am thinking of moving up to the Austin area. I'm not sure how the job market is for new grad nurses or which hospitals are good. Any info about jobs or even recommendations on neighborhoods to live in would be great. Thanks!

A: In Austin: Anywhere west of Mopac (loop 1). This would include NW and SW Austin also. The more west of down town you go, the nicer it gets. Central is nice and older and charming but also close to UT which could have an impact on traffic. In Round Rock, there are quite a few nice areas and gated communities as well, since it is a big suburb. For nursing jobs, try Dell Children's Hospital, St. David's Hospital, any of the Seton hospitals, Brackenridge Univ. Hospital. There are some new hospitals going up around the Round Rock/Georgetown area.

Q: What Incentives offers do you know about for Nursing Jobs? and where?
I am just wondering what kinds of nursing incentives are out there to attract people to nursing jobs. Ie: in B.C all i know of is the B.C loan forgiveness program but I am looking for more site specific incentives, US or Canada.

A: The last I knew, and it's been a couple of years, the hospitals near me (upstate NY) offered a cash incentives (I think that it was two thousand) PLUS the student loan forgiveness. You get a sign on bonus, plus an amount after six months, and the rest at the one year anniversary. Also, if you are an employee that refers someone else, you get a sign on bonus, and another bonus after the person you referred has been there a year. It is in a student's best interest to get student loans, and NOT pay their way through college....there isn't any other replacement bonus if you don't need the loan forgiveness.

Q: are there any registered nursing jobs where you just do paper work?
I want to become a nurse cause of the salary, but, I don't like to see blood and all that so I was wondering if there are any registered nursing job?

A: Maybe, but you can't get through Nursing School without seeing blood and all that stuff. That's what it's all about. Body parts, fecal material and exams. Try microbiology or research. Easier on the stomach.

Q: Are there nursing jobs for new grads in the Denver/Front Range Colorado? How hard will it be to find a job?
My wife has three years of experience as a nurse tech in a hospital and is shadowing at several hospitals here locally in Kansas City. Since we'd like to relocate, we're trying to figure out how difficult it will be for her to find a job with some hospital experience. She will graduate with an ADN degree but will have her full RN license once she passes her boards.

A: is colorado reciprocal with Mo or Ka on licensing? if not theres a bit of a hassle with the new license. other than that the world is her oyster, shouldnt have any trouble as long as not too picky about hours etc.

Q: traveloing nursing jobs,do you have to be licensed in each state you work in?
i see these staffing agencies promoting traveling jobs for nursing fields, like traveling cna's,rn's,surgical techs, etc.,and I was wondering ,do you have to go get licensed in each state you work in,and if so,do the staffing agencies generally take care of this for you?

A: Yes, except if you live in one of those compact states! You only have to take the NCLEX-RN once if you passed it. CNA's might have a different story!

Q: When is it a good time to start applying for nursing jobs?
I am going to be graduating with my associates in nursing in December 2009. I am trying to find how long before i graduate do I need to start applying?

A: I spoke with a Nurse Manager just yesterday and she said to start applying about 2-3 months before graduating. She's already in fact hired 3 students that don't graduate until May of this year and it's only Feb. She said that the students who wait until after they graduate have a harder time finding a job because so many other graudates are looking at the same time.
