Q: How would i be able to get a job as a nurse in australia if i graduated from the philippines?
I am a general pediatrician in the philippines practicing for seven years now, and I took up nursing in 2005. I am a graduate and registered nurse here without actual nursing job experience, how would i be able to register in australia? Do I have any chance of working in australia/
A: I'm not sure that is possible bc you would have to be certified in that country and every country is different
Q: How does an American nurse obtain a nursing job in Europe?
How would a fully certified American nurse go about obtaining a job in the medical field in Europe?
Would it require more school, additional licensing, etc.?
A: Assuming you are a fully certified American nurse, ask the school you graduated from to help you with this question.
Q: Is it hard to get a registered nurse job?
I am interested in getting an associates degree and become a registered nurse. Is it hard to get a job that requires being a registered nurse? I heard that someone has been a registered nurse for 5 years and still can not find a job.
A: I am from Pennsylvania and we have a desperate need for RN's. : )
Q: How to get a nurse job in England if I live in the US?
I am studying to be a nurse anesthetist or CRNA. I want to get a job in london. I dont know how to contact hospitals there. How do I do this and is it easy?
A: Hi, I'm a nurse in the UK, and as far as I know we don't have nurse anaesthetists. So that could be a problem unless you are willing to change speciality. Theatre nurses do a similar role, but won't be administering anaesthesia.
Q: I am a senior nurse practitioner looking for a travel nursing job that reflects my experience - suggestions?
I love to travel, whether its within the UK or further afield. How can I go about finding a job that will use my acute/emergency nurse practitioner skills within this concept?
A: Cruise ships?
Extended land based tours in non English speaking / adventure style environments, always need ready first aid etc.
Q: Where can I find examples of personal statements for the student nurse applying for first nursing job?
Is there anywhere I can find some examples of statements in support of application, for student nurses at the end of their course, applying for their first ever job as a registered nurse?
I'm finding it so difficult to write, especially as I have no other care experience except what I've done in my course on placement, whereas most the others in my year have care jobs "on the side" or backgrounds in care, so I really can't write anything about that.
thanks
A: You could write about what parts of the clinical you esp. enjoyed that relate to where you are applying. Some of my best experience for nursing came from my jobs in electronics, the military, and rock and roll concert venues/support. Take a step back, think about what you are already good at and think how it can help grow you in your new profession.
They know they are not getting a seasoned nurse. you are what you are and you are needed and wanted as you are. Remember that you are choosing them much more then they are choosing you. Good luck and welcome.

Q: My Fiance' is a Nurse in Ukraine. How can I get her a work Visa to obtain a nursing job here in the USA?
My Fiance', whom I met while on deployment to Ukraine with the Marine Corps (not via a mail bride service), is a Nurse in Ukraine. How can I get her an work Visa to obtain a nursing job here in the USA? I know there is a shortage of nurses here in the USA, and we both want her to be here. How do we do it, and who do we need to contact...I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks
A: I believe that before being able to participate in nurse programs she should pass several exams because medical systems in Ukraine and US are different.
Here's information (in Russian) what exams she should pass, the information is for russian citizens but i don't think there's difference with ukranians in this process.
http://www.medcectra.ru/faq.html
A nurse should pass 3 exams:
1. TOEFL or IELTS (for the level of english)
2. Medical qualifying examination CGFNS
3. Medical examination NCLEX for obtaining the american license
The whole immigration procedure after passing the exams takes app.6-12 months.
Here is the information about this process in Ukraine (Kiev)

The exams are the same
I don't think it's easy and in any way K-1 visa (fiancee visa) will allow you to be together sooner.
Q: Are there groups or organizations in the us, that will bring a foreigner here to train for a nurse job?
I just heard this somewhere, but it does not sound right. I believe that there is a nursing shortage here. Why would someone bring a individual here at their expense to train for a nursing job?
A: I'm not sure about bringing a foreigner over, but I know many hospitals will pay for an individual's education if they sign a contract to work for the hospital. Since their is a shortage hospitals are desperate for nurses even if it means they have to pay for their education.
Q: If your a nurse do you like your job? What do you like about it?
I'm thinking of switching careers. What kind of nursing job do you do? What kind of nurse pays the highest salary (i.e. surgery, private practice, pediatrics, dermatology, plastic surgeon etc.) Thank you.
A: I am a nurse and have been for 14 years now. The best thing about being a Registered Nurse is the versatility of the job. There are so many venues in nursing--you can work ICU, Emergency, Education, management, Teach, etc. the list goes on and on. The most important thing is that you make a difference in someones life by the little things most people take for granted every day. As for salary, working in a hospital has always paid me the best vs. a doctors office and a lot of facilities will pay extra for specialties such as ICU and ED. My advice would be to follow your heart because when it comes to something you do every day sometimes it is not always about the money. Hope this helps and good luck.
Q: What is the most popular nurse job and how much do they earn?
Advanced practice nurses, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists.
A: an anesthesiologist makes amost 15,000 dollars more a year
Q: What is it like to work as a CNA nurse job, and how many hours per week?
I really need to know how many hours per week because my retail job is very little hours.
A: most CNAs work in long term care (nursing homes) so that is what i will address
this is an analogy and is not meant in any way as disrespectful to senior citizens
think of the work that is involved in caring for 8 to 12 children, varying in age from newborn to 4 years old, all at the same time, except these kids weight 100 to 300 pounds each.
as a CNA you will toilet, bath, dress, feed, transfer, coach, walk, play games, read to, laugh, and cry with and for your residents. you will learn history from those who actually lived it. you will become attached emotionally, you will share birthdays, weddings, anniversary's, holidays and then you may/will have to deal with the death of a member of "your family".
this is the most emotionally draining, physically demanding, underpaid, under-appreciated job that you can ever do. it is also the MOST rewarding and important job there is.......... nothing is more important then the care we provide for our parents, grand parents, and those younger with debilitating diseases or injuries. there is always a high demand for CNAs because many people simply can NOT do the job.
Q: I'm a new registered nurse(Philippines,Asia), where can i land a good nursing job in NZ w/o experience?
I am a new (experience-less) nurse from the Philippines and I would like to gain my clinical experience in NZ/AU or UK. Do you know where i can go or somebody who can help me go and land a good job on those mentioned country? pls. help
A: It depends on where you are at the moment. If you are already in those countries, you can just look up job agencies or the hospitals directly. But if you are still in philippines, then you might want to contact your nearest embassies. They can tell you more about working overseas and if necessary where you need to sit some exams before you can work in those countries. Good luck :)
Q: How does a traveling nurse job work?
Do you sign on with an agency and they send you off to a place?
I really have no clue what it is exactly what traveling nurses do. How long are they at a place before they move on to another? Thanks so much!
A: You sign with an agency (or agencies) and you tell them where you prefer to work, and they offer you various contracts at different locations, and you choose where you want to go. It could be local, in state, or across the country. Sometimes your options are limited and you might not be thrilled with your choices. They provide transportation costs and housing / utilities costs when you are outstate and usually the contracts are anywhere from 6-20 weeks, but I think the most common is about 12-16 weeks.
You need at least 1 year regular hospital experience in medical / surgical, then if you plan on working in a specialty (OB, ER, OR, etc.) you will need experience in that area as well, because rarely is there training opportunities for travel nurses, you are expected to be competent.
Q: Any tips on a Job Interview for Vet Nurse?
Today I'm going to a Job interview for a vet nurse. I'm not really worried because I did fine in the last interview and I got the job but the vet nurse job is what I really want.
Can anyone give me some tips??
A: Focus on your skills, experience education in the field and why you are a perfect fit for the position. Arrive on time, knowing a bit about the business going into the interview. Be clean and dressed appropriately for an interview. Have at least one or two questions about the company and the position (that don't involve pay and benefits!). This will show your interest in the company and the job. Make good eye contact, have a firm handshake and try to think about what you want to say before you open your mouth. Like, You know and Ummmm all are job killers in an interview. Follow up with a thank you note to the person or people who interviewed you. They have seen more than one person so this helps them to remember who you were. Good Luck!
